Web Access.
Current information, on your terms.
An optional add-on that lets the assistant look things up on the open internet — today’s exchange rate, a competitor’s price, a regulation that changed last month — without giving up the privacy the rest of the box is built on. Off by default. On only when you decide it’s worth it.
A deliberate window to the outside, not an open door
Web Access is the one feature on the box that talks to the internet — and it only does so when a specific conversation calls for it, and only after your office has switched it on.
Look things up without leaving the chat
Ask about a current exchange rate, a recent law change, today’s weather, or what a competitor is charging, and the assistant fetches it live from the web and folds the answer straight into the conversation — no separate browser tab required.
- Pulls current facts, prices, and news into any chat
- Cites the source it pulled the answer from
- Works alongside everything else the AI already does
Your data still doesn’t leave — only the question does
Turning Web Access on doesn’t change how the rest of the box works. Your files, chat history, contacts, and calendar stay exactly where they are. Only the specific lookup — not your documents, not your conversation history — goes out, and only for as long as you leave the switch on.
- Off by default on every install
- Toggle per conversation, or lock it off office-wide
- Admins decide who’s allowed to switch it on
Built to fill the one gap a private box has
Everything else on the box runs offline by design. Web Access is the narrow exception, built for the questions that genuinely need today’s internet.
Live inside Private AI Chat
Flip Web Access on for a single conversation, ask your question, and the answer arrives blended with everything the assistant already knows from your files.
Sourced, not just stated
Answers pulled from the web come with the source attached, so you can tell at a glance what came from your own documents and what came from outside.
Feeds straight into drafts
A current figure pulled from the web can drop directly into a document or email built with the Document & Email Generator, in the same conversation.
Controlled by the same permissions
An admin can restrict Web Access to specific roles, or turn it off entirely for the whole office, through Team Accounts & Permissions.
A switch, not a default. On for the moment you need it.
Flip the toggle in chat
Turn Web Access on for the conversation in front of you — it stays off everywhere else until you choose otherwise.
Ask your question
Ask for a rate, a fact, a recent price, or anything that needs today’s internet rather than yesterday’s files.
Get an answer, with its source
The assistant fetches, cites, and folds the result back into the conversation — then Web Access goes quiet again.
Web Access is one part of the office
